Driving Dogs

They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but maybe driving isn’t a trick but a necessary talent. A New Zealand charity recently spent a number of weeks training three different dogs how to work the gear shift, accelerator, brakes and steering of a tricked out Mini Countryman. The project, headed up by Aukland SPCA is meant to change the public’s impression of rescue dogs and encourage more adoptions. Pretty amazing stuff. Seems like Monty could actually be a better driver than most of the people on the road out there, with an added bonus that he could never give you the finger if you cut him off.
