Robots In Residence

The Tribeca Film Festival called it a year this weekend, and with their 2013 they’ve become one of the first film festivals to look towards interactive storytelling as a subject. This year a little documentary called “Robots in Residence” rolled into New York to showcase a new kind of idea exploring the human and robot relationship. The film’s creators, Brent Hoff and Alexander Reben, are working on an experimental film in which the directors and storytellers are a set of recording robots. The thought is that most people will reveal deeper secrets about themselves to a cute little “Johnny Five” lookalike robot than a documentarian. Think you’d be happy bearing your soul to a 10 inch tall piece of cardboard? You’d probably be happy to.
