The Beet Box

Top ten lists wrapping up the year that was 2012 are everywhere, but after stumbling upon the top 10 uses of the Raspberry Pi we found Minivegas’ favorite invention of 2012. A Beet Box. Simply put, it takes normal, run of the mill, farm raised beets and turns them into super sick beats. With a mixture of touch sensors and Arduino code, a NYU masters student was able to create the coolest invention of the year. The Raspberry Pi is a wonderful little motherboard that is allowing creative developers to break new ground in the installation space. We’re quite impressed with the capability this little computer has, and this Beet Box is the perfect example of how a simple item can be transformed into an entirely interactive experience.
