Who Needs MoCap?

We’ve been playing with the open source code on the Microsoft Kinect quite a bit, as it’s potential is tremendous. In pitching a job that involved a totally interactive installation in which a user could control the whole body of a character, we came up with this little test. It’s quite a bit of fun, but with a little more time we’d be able to create a real time rendering avatar and the ability to control it without the need for a big, motion-capture rig.
